On June 5th, we’ll be paying tribute to our clients and Canadians who have survived and continue to thrive despite being HIV+ with an all-welcome brunch. In the early stages of the HIV/AIDS pandemic being diagnosed HIV positive was deemed a death sentence. Tens of millions of people worldwide died from the disease in the 80s. With the advent of antiretroviral drug regimens in the early 90s HIV+ people started living longer. Today, thanks to great strides in HIV/AIDS medical research and treatment HIV has become a manageable disease with most HIV+ people surviving and living regular length lives.
