Hepatitis C is called the ghost disease as symptoms don’t appear for many years, even decades after a person contracts the virus. But there have been many exciting advances in the medical treatment of HCV. There is now a cure that takes only weeks with a simple pill regimen. In a recent development, the province has announced it will cover the costs of Hepatitis C treatment for Ontarians at any stage of infection. To mark these changes and to bring greater awareness to the disease ACNBA will be holding various events throughout North Bay throughout the month of May. An itinerary will be posted soon.
