May is Hepatitis C Month in North Bay

May 1st, 2018 at 11:18 am

Hepatitis C has been called the ghost virus as it can take many years, even decades for symptoms to appear after a person is infected. But there have been many exciting advances in the treatment of Hep C. There is now a cure. The virus can be eradicated by way of a simple pill regimen. Also, the province has recently announced it will cover the cost of Hep C treatment for Ontarians no matter what stage of the infection. However, there is still no vaccine to prevent the virus from spreading. That’s where awareness plays a very important role and what the month of May is all about for us here at ACNBA. We’ll be holding awareness events around North Bay throughout the month. Click here for the full month’s agenda.
