Did you know that we are one of 3 Needle Exchange Programs in North Bay. We distribute new harm reduction supplies and safely dispose of any used needles from intravenous drug use (IDU). This ensure that people are using safely and do not share their drug gear. This helps reduce the risk of getting HIV, Hepatitis C and some infections.
Some of the kits that we offer are :
- Safe Injection Kits include: (Individual supplies available)
- 10-1cc syringes
- 3-5 waters
- 10 alcohol swabs
- 10 spoons/cookers
- 10 filters
- 3 ties
- 3 vitamin C
- 2 Condoms
- Safe Inhalation Kits include:
- 2 Glass Stems
- 4 – 2 inch pieces of tubing
- 4 brass filter packages
- 2 push sticks
- 2 condoms
- 1 pack of matches
- Safer Snorting Kits include:
- 4 – 3-inch straws
- 10 alcohol swabs
- 2 PVC cutting cards
- 4 condoms
- Bioharzard sharps containers available!
We also offer condoms, hygiene kits and gently used clothing.
Everyone who comes to the AIDS Committee of North Bay & Area is welcome to have a granola bar and juice box. If you return used needles, you get another granola bar as a thank you for keeping people safe.
We provide a safe and discreet location for people to pick up supplies. You do not have to be HIV or hepatitis C positive to access our needle exchange. We also offer HIV and hepatitis C testing!
