World Hepatitis Day July 28, 2015

July 7th, 2015 at 8:46 am

Do you know your hepatitis status? You could be the one in 12 that are infected and not be aware of it. Over 250,000 Canadians are currently living with hepatitis. About a third of them aren’t aware of their infected status. On this World Hepatitis Day, July 28th, 2015, get yourself checked for hepatitis C. This potentially fatal, yet curable disease, strikes the liver, eventually causing severe scarring (cirrhosis). This process can take 20 to 30 years with few or no symptoms. A simple blood test will determine whether the virus is present or not. For more information on hepatitis C click here.
